I tried to convince myself I misunderstood, but this morning, they admitted they used a cheat sheet during the test, rationalizing that they 'had no other choice.' Now I’m struggling with what to do. If I report them, there’s a very good chance their scholarship will be revoked, and they’d probably have to drop out—they don’t have any family support. But if I stay silent, I know I’m ignoring academic dishonesty and giving them a free pass over honest students who struggled. The thought of their dreams crashing because of one desperate choice makes me feel sick, but so does the idea of being complicit by letting it slide.
