I memorized her stop because she refused to ask, chin up, grocery cart rattling. She reminded me of my wife. Same way of folding a receipt into tiny squares. My wife never got to grow old. The voicemail from before the accident is still saved. Forty seconds, nothing much, just my voice saying I was running late for dinner. She did not pick up. Three years, I think. Maybe a little more.
