I never thought I'd be in this situation. Last week, I went to visit my brother at his apartment. He wasn't expecting me, and as I got to his floor, I saw him in the far end of the hallway, yelling at someone I didn't recognize. Suddenly, he shoved the guy hard. The man fell, hit his head against the wall, and collapsed. My brother looked up, saw me, and rushed over, telling me not to get involved. He insisted it was just a heated argument gone wrong and that the guy was fine, but I could see panic in his eyes. Later, I found out the other man had a concussion and reported being attacked, but couldn't identify my brother. The police are asking around, looking for witnesses. My brother is begging me to keep quiet. He says it would ruin his life, and swears he'll make things right with the victim. I feel sick thinking about either betraying him or lying to the authorities. I want to protect my family, but I also can't shake the feeling that someone was seriously hurt and deserves justice.
