I still remember the day of the break-in like it happened yesterday. My cousin was arrested for a crime I know he didn't commit–the evidence was all circumstantial, but it lined up just enough against him. What haunts me is that I know who really did it. In fact, I was there. A mutual friend dragged me along to the house that night, and while I didn't actually go inside, I waited in the car, terrified and stupidly compliant. I thought it was a harmless prank, but things escalated fast. I never told anyone because I was afraid of being charged as an accomplice. My cousin’s been in jail for months now.
