When I peeked around the corner, I saw my brother arguing with someone I recognized from his past—a guy who’d landed in trouble before. What happened next was a blur: a physical struggle, a bottle shattering, and the other man crumpling to the floor, bleeding. My brother panicked and told me I 'needed to forget everything.' He patched the guy up as best he could and sent him away, swearing me to secrecy. Well, the police came asking questions the next morning, and now they want me to make a statement. My brother keeps insisting it was self-defense, but he doesn’t trust the system—and he’s begging me not to get involved. I’m literally the only witness.
