It isn’t just a gray area: it’s clear, solid corruption, exactly the type of thing we always swore to fight against in politics. Now, every time I see their proud campaign posters, I feel sick. I’ve built friendships around supporting this person—people who trust me to vouch for their integrity. If I go public with what I know, it could destroy their career and ripple out to our entire movement. But if I keep quiet, that makes me complicit in covering for the very thing we’re supposed to oppose. The last few days, I’ve barely slept. My stomach twists whenever my phone buzzes, worried it’s someone asking for another rally or event. If I leak the evidence, not only will I lose friends and community, but I’ll also hurt the causes I care about.
