I just discovered that my friend group—people I’ve considered my core for years—have been hanging out without me on purpose. I only found out because someone accidentally posted a photo to their story, not realizing I could still see it. When I tried to casually mention the get-together in our group chat, everyone either ignored it or acted like it was no big deal, as if I’d misunderstood. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed vague references to events I’m not invited to, but I tried to convince myself I was being paranoid. Now, it’s obvious I’ve been systematically left out. I’m torn between wanting to confront them for an explanation, quietly stepping away to protect my pride, or trying to reconnect to see if things can be repaired. The thought of awkwardly forcing myself back in makes me dread more rejection, but the idea of walking away from years of history hurts just as much. I can’t shake this ache in my chest whenever I see their inside jokes or plans I’m not part of. I keep wondering what I did wrong, or if I’m just not “fun” enough for them anymore. Part of me wants to demand the truth, but another part just wants to disappear to avoid more humiliation. What would YOU do?
