I finally got the call I’d been hoping for—a position at the company I've dreamed of since college, offering not just better pay, but a genuine career path. The catch: They need me to start in two weeks. The problem is, at my current job, I'm leading a team of five on a make-or-break project that's already been through a rocky launch. My teammates have worked late nights with me, trusting I’d see us through final delivery in a month. Our manager has been hands-off, so the team leans on me for guidance, morale, and the technical details. If I leave now, I know the project might collapse or at least take a serious hit—jeopardizing everyone’s hard work and possibly their job security. I keep thinking about the promises we made to each other during those long hours when nothing seemed to work, how I assured them we’d all push through together.
