Last week, at a big team meeting with our boss, my colleague—someone I genuinely liked—presented my project proposal as if it were entirely her own. The slides were a near-exact copy of what I’d shared with her just days before for feedback. She didn’t mention my name once. Everyone congratulated her on the “fresh idea” and “impressive research,” and I sat there, stunned and silent. I couldn’t sleep for days. I kept replaying the moment, wondering if I was overreacting. But I have saved emails with my timestamped draft, Slack messages asking her for her thoughts, even version histories showing my authorship. I know I have solid proof.
